Keeping Everyone Safe - Covid-19 Policy

We just wanted to let you know about a few changes we have made, which we hope you’ll find reassuring in these times.

Tier 2 Resctrictions – Thurs 26th November Update

Due to the size of the pub and our reduction in capacity we can only take dining reservations. Under new tier 2 restrictions alcohol can only be served with a substantial meal, strictly single households plus one person from a support bubble and that last orders will be taken at 10pm and the pub must close at 11pm. All reservations for inside are for single households only plus a maximum of 1 person from your support bubble. For our courtyard, the rule of 6 applies for mixed households. ID may be requested upon entry.

Social Distancing

Please respect yours and others personal space by maintaining a social distance where possible. We will be asking customers to wait at the door for a member of the team to take you to your table, to sanitise your hands on the way into the pub and to wear a face mask at all times apart from when seated at your table.

The reason for this is so we can take the time to explain how things work and to also keep an eye on the number of people we have in the pub at any one time. This is also the reason why we’re encouraging bookings only. Table bookings will be for a maximum of 1 hour 45 minutes to enable us to sanitise the table/chairs between bookings.  In accordance with government guidelines, we have set our maximum table size 6 (this is to include children, with room for highchair/pram) to allow us to have enough space for everyone.

We do accept walk-ups, this will be done a first come first serve basis and dependant on us having tables available, as we want to try to avoid queuing wherever possible  You would be advised of how long the table will be available to you and will be requested to provide contact details (1 per group), unfortunately if this is not provided you will not be able to dine/drink with us.  Payment for drinks will be required upon serving.


We want to reassure you that there’s regular cleaning going on in the pub, our team will be washing/sanitising regularly.  We will also be sanitising ‘touch points’ regularly throughout the day and evening. The tables and chairs will be cleaned after each customer. At every step, we’ll be following the highest of cleaning standards throughout the pub and in the kitchen.

Face Coverings

Masks that cover both the nose and mouth, MUST be worn at all times on the premises unless seated.  This includes when getting up to use the lavatory or going outside for a cigarette.  We reserve the right to refuse entry or service, for anyone choosing not to wear a mask correctly.   All front of house staff will be required to wear a suitable mask at all times whilst serving.

Table Service

We will do our upmost to keep a safe distance where possible when taking orders and serving your table.

You’ll notice some changes to the way we’re laying the tables. To reduce the ‘contact’ with cutlery.  These will be brought to your table on a sanitised tray or in a freshly cleaned glass, for you to help yourself, as will your drinks.  The same goes for the salt and peppers, which will be sanitised after every use. We ask that customers remain seated at their reserved table during their visit, unless using the restrooms or outside space.

Space Between Tables

We wanted to reassure you that care and consideration has gone into spacing the distance between the tables and positioning of the chairs, which has resulted in us dramatically reducing our capacity. Please do not move chairs from their original positions.


Menus will only be used once and destroyed/recycled afterwards.

Bar service

As much as we love people around the bar, please resist the temptation to pop to it, we’ll look after you at the table.  The bar stools have been put away for a while.


Due to the positioning of our toilets we have a made a few changes, which we will advise you about on arrival.  They will be on a one in one out system. Please try to avoid queuing, but if this cannot be avoided, please maintain a social distance from our staff and other customers as much as possible.

Payment and Tips

To reduce the handling of cash where possible. We kindly ask you to use contactless wherever you can. We will still be accepting card payment and cash where necessary. Card Machines will be sanitised after each use. If you would like to leave a tip, please ask a team member to add it onto the bill total when paying.
